How to Send Files for Commercial Printing
The only
way to send your file to the News & Record for a commercial print
job is to send it electronically. There are several advantages to sending
files electronically. The customer is able to spend more time creating
the file, and we are able to process it much faster, reducing production
time. Also, electronic files reproduce better as they go from the customer’s
computer to our computer to output off of our imagesetter.
To send
your file electronically, save and send the file in PDF format (Portable
Document File). These files are created in any conventional software
such as Quark, Freehand, Illustrator or Pagemaker and then compressed
into Adobe Acrobat format. This system of sending files is fast, no
matter what program was used to create the file. Adobe Acrobat files
will work with all computers, whether they be Macs or PCs.
If you
have questions about sending your file electronically, please call Rex
Riley at 336 (373-7166) or email him at rriley@news-record.com.
