Packaging
The Packaging facility at the News & Record is the place where the newspapers are received from the press, counted and stacked, inserted with advertising material or other sections of the paper, and re-stacked and strapped in bundles. These bundles are conveyed to the loading dock were they are loaded onto trucks or trailers. The Transportation department then delivers the papers to the carriers who deliver them to your house.
The News & Record has three state of the art computer controlled inserters. The packaging department inserts over 300 million inserts a year.
